RentMapped ("we", "the site") maps long-term rental listings around Cebu. We're constantly searching public property rental listings across the internet and always redirect you to the original source to contact the poster. This page explains what data we collect from you personally, and what we do with it.
You can browse and search every listing without signing in. We set a random cookie to recognize repeat visits to the same listing — for example, to show you which listings you've already opened. This cookie does not identify you personally on its own.
We also record some basic analytics against that same cookie: your IP address; your browser, operating system and device type (read from your browser's own request headers, plus a few details — screen size, language, time zone — your browser reports directly); which listings you open and follow out to their original post; and, when you use the search box, the text you search for or the photo you upload to search by. When you adjust the map's filters, we log the selection you settle on (which we work out from when you move the map, open a listing, or run a search) — not every individual checkbox you click along the way. This is all first-party: it helps us understand which listings and areas get used, and where the site falls short (searches that turn up nothing, filter combinations with no matches). See "What we don't do" below for what we don't do with it.
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account, and create an account for you with that information. We use it only to show your name/avatar in the app and to let you sign back in. We never see or store your Google password.
Once signed in, the anonymous browsing cookie described above is linked to your account, so your listing history follows you across devices.
Alongside our own records, the same handful of actions — arriving, settling on a set of filters, running a search, opening a listing, following one out to its original post — are also reported to Google Analytics. That report carries the action, the listing's id, its asking rent and its property type; it never carries your name, your email, or the text of a listing. These services set their own cookies and receive your IP address and browser details directly, under their own privacy policies:
A browser-level tracker blocker, or "Do Not Track"-style content blocking, stops these entirely — the site works exactly the same without them.
We don't sell or rent your data to anyone. Beyond the services named above, nothing about your browsing leaves us: we never hand a third party your name, your email address, your saved filters, or your tags and notes.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. This removes your saved filters, tags, reports, and profile information. Your listing-visit history, browsing analytics, and any location-edit audit entries stay in our database so the map and edit history stay consistent for other users, and are no longer linked to your account — but, unlike the rest of your account data, they aren't erased outright, since they're keyed to the anonymous browsing cookie rather than to you by name.
